Posters have been a popular way of promoting events, products and brands for decades but are they still effective? Today’s companies have endless options when it comes to advertising and marketing. As well as offline options, the rise of digital marketing has led many firms to incorporate online mediums into their marketing strategy.

Although internet advertising can be effective in many ways, it does lack many of the benefits associated with offline marketing and tangible advertising. Posters, in particular, have the potential to become iconic and long remembered.

While users tend to scroll past digital media without registering it, large format prints have a more profound impact on those who see them. As a result, the core message of a poster becomes indelibly inked on the viewer’s memory and creates a long-lasting impression. For brands who want to reach their target market, this ability to attract attention and retention is an alluring prospect. Indeed, it’s one of the reasons large format printing has remained such an effective form of marketing.

To find out more reasons why large format poster printingremains one of the most effective ways to showcase your events, products and brand, take a look at our top five reasons for use poster printing now…

1. Maximum Reach

When you use posters to promote your business, you have the ability to reach millions of people from just one print. Depending on where you choose to position your large format posters, you have the potential to reach members of every demographic, thus boosting your profile in the process.

While digital advertising tends to be focused on reaching relatively small numbers of narrow markets, poster printing enables you marketing campaigns to span generations, geography and genres.

Whether you’re promoting an upcoming event, the launch of a product, the introduction of a new service or your brand itself, a poster will ensure maximum exposure.

2. Low Cost, High Return

Poster printing is one of the most cost-effective methods of advertising or marketing. Large volumes can be printed in a short space of time, and increased volumes reduce the unit price even further. This means you can use high-quality printing and superior substrates, regardless of what your budget is.

When compared to other forms of advertising, it’s difficult to find an alternative which offers the same reach at such a low rate. Due to this, the ROI, or return on investment, associated with poster marketing is particularly high. When companies can gain high level of exposure from low-cost production methods, such as poster printing, they have the potential to significant increase their profits.

3. Enhanced Creativity

Posters don’t limit your creativity or require you to adhere to strict principles. In fact, you can be as creative as you like when you’re designing your marketing materials. With posters, your initial template is a blank canvas which can be filled however you choose.

For designers and artists, the freedom which comes from poster printing enables them to creative innovative and original content. This ensures your posters are eye-catching and memorable, which only enhances their impact and boosts your campaign results.

As well as being an effective form of marketing, posters are artwork in their own right. While posters are typically used in busy locations to attract the attention of people passing by, they’re routinely framed and hung in homes, businesses and galleries too. This highlights the creative energy which is harnessed in a poster and reflects the importance and effectiveness of the medium.

4. Portable Marketing

Many people assume that posters are static items which can only be used in one location, but this isn’t the case at all. Although you can place large format posters in static, high-traffic locations, you can also opt for mobile placements too.

When you use large format printing to advertise on buses, taxis and trains, for example, your posters can travel hundreds of miles in a single day. As well as increasing its reach in terms of the number of people who will view your poster, it also significantly enhances its geographical reach.

With the potential to use a single poster to reach millions of people across a large proportion of the country, it’s clear how profitable poster marketing can really be. If you’re promoting a brand, product, event or service, it’s hard to rival the impact this type of marketing can have.

5. Flexible Sizing

No matter where you plan on situating your posters, they can be scaled to any size. This ensures your designs can be showcased at their best and used for maximum effect. In addition, you’ll find that scaling your designs means they can be used in a variety of different locations. From billboards and roadside ads to window posters and banners;large format printing is inherently flexible.

Furthermore, the shape of your posters can be varied too. Think you’re stuck between vertical and horizontal rectangular posters? Think again. Today’s large format printing equipment ensures posters can be created in almost any shape or size.

If you want to create an eye-catching and memorable poster, an off-the-wall shape or enlarged size could be an easy way to achieve your aims. When maximum publicity is the goal, large format poster printing always delivers.

Designing Your Promotional Posters

With so many substrates or bases to choose from, as well as a wide variety of printing options, you have the scope to free your creative mind when you’re designing your latest batch of promotional posters. For anyone that’s moved house after a number of years, you know how daunting this can be. As Kirstie Allsopp and Phil Spencer tell us, it’s about Location, Location, Location and once you’ve found your ideal property you then need to maximise the Amazing Space and come up with Grand Designs without input & guidance from George Clarke and Kevin McCloud!! Yet we’ve done it!! We were bursting at the seams at our previous London printing studio in Great Portland Street [GPS] W1 as, in response to customer demand, we’d continued to invest to ensure we kept pace with the advancements in Xerox digital printing technology as far as the space would allow us. The advancements since we took our very first Xerox Iridesse in 2018, the first in Europe, have been out of this world. With its speciality colour printing of gold, silver, white, clear and fluorescent pink, we loved it and so did our customers. So much so we soon found ourselves with Xerox number 2. Again we loved it, and so did our customers, new and old. We were able to translate creative designs and requests like never before and in 2022, knowing we needed add to our Xerox Iridesse fleet yet again, it was clear. We had outgrown our Great Portland Street home.
